volleyball mondays!

the Monday night tradition of beach volleyball is back, and i couldn't be more excited! no pictures from that, but from the drive home, and the new flowers the rain/sprinklers brought on...

i know i missed yesterday, but i'm cutting myself a little slack after my weekend ;) with that, i give you today's photos...

WOW that was crazy...

so today was the big day, i.e. half triathlon. .46 mile swim (in the ocean), 20K bike (on a mountain bike) and 5k (3.1 mile) run. i finished in 1hr. 40 min. and couldn't be more please with my first time performance! the photos today are brought to you by Steve Sykes, instead of Lauren, but i thought them fitting to document at least part of the occasion. it wasn't always very pretty haha. Suzanne was actually running to the finish the second time, encouraging me on to finish strong. I was telling her I wasn't going to run any faster...

yep, i did it, i chopped it off again after almost a year of growing it out. i'm so patient hahah, so here is the before and after (although after is much better in person!)

almost d-day!

so my sprint triathlon is this weekend (YIKES) and i'm definitely mentally prepared, just not as much physically as i'd like to be... oh well! i drove up to jacksonville after work and came across this van that just really made me laugh. i dunno, perhaps they could come up with a better name?!?!

happy hump day everybody! just making the cut (again haha) - spent my late night working on hair pieces for the fashion show (April 25, World Golf Village, tickets on sale now, it's going to be AWESOME, and it's for a good cause!!!).... so the three (or four, haven't decided yet) pieces, and a proportional shot.

wow, what a busy day today. not that it was that much more busy than usual, i've just been going seemingly non-stop since 8am. work, gym, work from the "home office", trying to do laundry, post a blog, you get the picture ;) so after a few days of rain and dreary weather, the sun made it's appearance tonight, and what a glorious one it was!

Easter and Monday all wrapped into one...

tonight i spent some time working on pieces for the fashion show. it's time intensive, and i didn't get as much done as i thought i had - isn't that the way it goes? so as promised, Easter Sunday's photo, and tonight's...

Solo Saturday

This wknd i was driving to Ocala by myself, always an adventure (and a struggle to stay awake!) but this sign caught my eye (for obvious reasons if you are in my family, not so obvious if you're not...). it's not exACTLY a cave, but it IS a dive! you just can't make this stuff up my friends!

Good Friday

tonight my church held a Good Friday service in the Downtown Square Gazebo. The kids love climbing on anything and everything, so once one of them started climbing, the rest joined in, and i seized my opportunity! love these kids!

Thursday madness...

after a very long day at the office aka stockroom of BR, my window decided to not go back up. it appears/sounds to be the motor. um, when is it supposed to rain again? oh yeah, on SATURDAY. when i have to drive to OCALA. *sigh* this'll be interesting...

i juuuuust made the cut off! right before i collapse into bed after a long day and BEFORE a long day of work, this is what i have to show you.... not shot by me! well, except the one self portrait :) Wednesday's have become a bit of a tradition, and slowly i keep pulling more friends in - Jennifer is the latest addition! hooray!

um, yes, it was cold today. and windy. Blustery, even! i spent my day indoors at work, and my night indoors with precious baby girls. . . .

i know i didn't post yesterday, but i've cutting myself some slack given my ridiculous schedule :) so today's post is in regards to APRIL's weather... in Florida!

so many late nights...

hi hey hello again! it's been a long day of traveling and photo shoots, visits with friends from out of town, late afternoon naps, and staying up past my bedtime doing photo edits... here's two from today, one of the fog on the road this morning, though not as immediately visible, and one of a dear old friend (cough cough whom i used to babysit cough cough) who came in for a play/test photo shoot.

i know what day it is...

in my mind, since i haven't slept through the night, it's still Friday, although technically it's Saturday, which i fully documented for you :) the time is A.M. (...)

new shoes!

so since i'm training for a sprint tri, i decided i needed some shoes that were going to support my apparently ridiculously flat, low arched, pronating (sp?) feet... after a VERY long day of shopping yesterday, this was the result, which i tested out tonight. running is still not even CLOSE to my favorite, but i'm willing to work at it.
... and a little soundtrack action (another one of my future European husbands haha)

April Fools!

yeah, i had no good joke. i did change my FB status to "in a relationship" but realized at the end of the day, i have my privacy settings to "do not alert relationship status changes." oops. there went that crappy joke :-p so today we got some much needed rain, but why, oh WHY did it have to be on MY day off?!?!!? as you can see on my car, there are still lots of dingleberries (that's what our family calls them) that fell off the tree onto my car, and didn't come off, in fact i think they soaked in deeper with the rain!

i had lunch with Natasha, then drove up to Jacksonville to try and find new running shoes. After traveling all over Jax, i stop by the Nike Outlet on my way home and find the RIGHT shoe for $20 cheaper than the cheapest Jax store. Go figure! It was an educational trip, though, and i DID get to eat Moe's! ("Welcome to Moe's!!!!") oh yeah, how could i forget, i also tried on my first triathlon suit. i got a good laugh, and decided to ham it up a bit... the competition better watch out!!!
